The day may come when you cry to Christ and he does not seem to hear you. At such a time it is hard to remember that the silence you hear is not his refusal. Rather, there may be some hindrance in yourself, some work of preparation which you need to do, before the answer can come. Instead of doubting and blaming God and Christ for not answering your prayer, you need to first look within yourself and ask what it might be that keeps the answer from coming through.
Christ’s Silence
Silence Hurts
Is anythings so selfish as holding to oneself words of love and forgiveness, gentleness and kindness, when the sharing of those words could feed, nurture, and even save another? Speech is a gift from God, and we are to use our gifts for the glory of God. Does not encouraging the disheartened, supporting the weary, bringing joy and hope to the downcast glorify God? To state high and holy motives, and blow gently on the embers of faith, do these acts not warm the cold altars of the heart? Strive not to keep your thoughts and your words to yourself, but to share these things — and God will be in your speaking.
